So, I wanted to start out this blog with a more somber quote. I
work at a nursing home, so I see the elderly everyday and the struggles
they have with mobility, motor skills and even basic decision making. I am lucky enough to have a mom and a dad who are still married. I am extremely close with both of them. Growing up is something you think about yourself doing. While we are trying to figure life out, our parents are also figuring things out too.
Things change for our parents as their children grow older and "leave the nest." I do not want to ramble on and on about how important my parents are to me, but I think I made my point. Even if you do not have the best relationship with your parents now, think about the future when you get married and/or have kids. Don't you want them to have grandparents?
Your parents are the people who brought you into this world. Appreciate them now, before too much time passes and you can't make things right. I am so thankful for my job and how it has opened my eyes to how some people treat their parents. I know I will never be one of those people.
